Introduction

The Village of Brayton is approximately 1 mile from Selby and is a growing area with a large commuter population in a semi-rural part of North Yorkshire and on the edge of the historic market town of Selby.

Brayton High School opened in 1979, and the school was awarded Technology College status in 2001. To mark our new status, the name of the school was changed to Brayton College. We intend to go on delivering a high quality of education to the people of Selby and the surrounding area. We form part of North Yorkshire LEA and continue to work very closely with the authority. The College is an 11-16 establishment with approximately 1200 students, delivering the full National Curriculum to students of all abilities.

For post 16 education, students continue on to Selby College or travel further abroad to York Sixth Form College or New College, Pontefract.

Brayton College is committed to achieving and maintaining high standards of academic and personal attainment. We have excellent results, and have set ourselves some challenging targets for further improvement in the coming year
